Pustakopahar
PM SHRI KV Narangi in the session 2025-26 96
students donated 453 textbooks.
A Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) initiative
where senior students donate their gently‐used NCERT textbooks to juniors each
year. Aims to promote sharing, reduce waste, and save
costs—especially by conserving paper and trees. It also fosters social
responsibility and community spirit among students.
Typically organized in late March or early April,
around exam result time or reopening of schools. Books are collected and
distributed on the first day of the new academic session (e.g. April 1) .
Students register, bring books in good condition,
and hand them to the librarian or class teacher. Only NCERT textbooks in good
shape are accepted.
Cost-effective: Juniors get books for free; schools
and families spend less on purchasing new ones.
Eco-friendly: Reduces demand for new
textbooks—helping cut paper usage and saving trees.
Values: Encourages moral education through sharing,
empathy, and responsible citizenship.
Examples of impact:
Organized a two‑day Pustakopahar
drive—March 27 and April 1, 2025.
